Members and donors support the arts work you cannot see through the bright new gallery window: collaborations with the Opera Company of Philadelphia, Kimmel Center, Temple University, and African American Museum of Philadelphia.

Now, for the first time, however, we’re able to fulfill other requests: for ongoing, regular classes—Zumba and African dance, to start—and monthly gatherings: storytelling for the pre-K set, spoken word for teens, and an open mic for adult artists. Membership earns you half price for the $10 classes, plus the following benefits:

• Discounts on workshops and recurring events
o Six-Week Writing Workshop Series
o Monthly Live Band Showcase
• Free Event tickets
o “Can You Hear God Crying?” Community Performance, January 14, 2012
o Celebration of Black Writing Lifetime Achievement Ceremony (CBW), June 1, 2012
• One signed Art Sanctuary event poster
• One signed featured artist book
*Excludes Art Sanctuary fundraisers

Art Sanctuary has chosen to create membership levels to acknowledge legendary literary and community figures. We encourage our members who are not familiar with these individuals and artists to do some research on their contributions to African American art and culture.
