CALLING ALL ARTISTS: Join in the Process! Submit your work to be considered for a group show, lecture, public critique, and solo exhibition.
Theme: We Are Stronger Together
The Barnes Foundation is partnering with Art Sanctuary and Rush Arts Philly to facilitate a competition and public dialogue with emerging artists within the tri-state area. Over the next 12 months, a series of events will foster a unique opportunity for aspiring artists of all backgrounds and media to display and discuss their work.
Once the submissions deadline has passed, 25 semifinalists will be selected and notified by mid-June 2017. These individuals will exhibit together in a group show at Rush Arts Philly in August 2017. Prior to the close of the group exhibition, Art Sanctuary will host a lecture and announce the two finalists who will take part in a public critique at the Barnes Foundation during Free First Sunday, generously sponsored by PECO, on December 3, 2017. Respondents will include Philadelphia art critics and representatives of Art Sanctuary and Rush Arts. Each of the two finalists will be awarded a stipend from the Barnes Foundation, as well as a 2018 solo exhibition in the project space at Rush Arts Gallery in Chelsea, New York.
