An innovative blend of music that unites jazz, blues, classical and hip hop using stories and poetry written by Philadelphia public school students, Hip H’opera will use an interactive approach to showcase the multi-dimensional voices. This excerpt of Hip H’opera will feature an exploration of the lives of urban youth, with the full production to premiere in 2015. Composer Daniel Bernard Roumain and librettist Marc Bamuthi Joseph, the creative team behind Hip H’opera will be on hand to perform with the students in the program.
