The foundation of our arts education programming is The Art Sanctuary Teaching Artist Council (ArtSTAC), a workshop series for in-depth training and professional development. Designed for artists of all ages and experience levels, ArtSTAC provides artistic educators with the foundation to thrive in any teaching environment. The skills they develop enable them to excel in cultural organizations, community centers, schools, or as independent contractors. Art Sanctuary’s education programming is only delivered by ArtSTAC teaching artists.
A teacher educator trains each ArtSTAC cohort over the course of an academic year (10 months) in monthly 3-hour professional development sessions. Topics covered include lesson planning, assessments, classroom management, etc.
We accept new cohorts in September of each year, but encourage interested artists to contact us throughout the year, as we have special opportunities artists may find interesting.
